As has become customary by the Cultural Association of Castellón, on Thursday, day 9 and to 22 this month, will open the exhibition "Artist of the Athenaeum" in a new edition includes the work (mostly paintings, but also displayed a pair of sculptures) of 34 members (32 painters and sculptors 2) belonging to this institution.
While the show presents a nice visual sense, much clearer and clearer than before and therefore it makes your presentation earn enough in the exhibition space, the quality of exposure is still very poor and amateur, although there are some (rather few) examples that dignify the sample. Not that I consider as I learned, "said our President at the opening of the exhibition, referring indirectly to some words published in this blog for some time for me, each group exhibition presented by members of the University, should be comparable to as the Venice Biennale, or an International Art Fair ARCO like, Miami or Chicago, let less my dear D. Vicente Castell, No, that's not what I explained in my previous opinion piece on this blog, I said to take care of the quality of the works that represent a serious, as it should be the Cultural Centre of Castellón, is minimum that the exponents should require participating in group shows, and this has nothing to do with utopian aspirations and desires. I am aware of the quality we have 
most painters of Castellon in general and those of our University in particular, some have been, or are students of mine, (in fact, counted among the best). This perhaps has more to do with accountability, hard work by all members of the Board, among which are (how could it be otherwise) you as the principal, because you have the duty and responsibility work as best as possible, and the institution they represent and which in turn represents all of us. And I will always be better than they do with the self-critical is expected of you all, with eyes and ears tuned, to any suggestion, opinion or criticism, because without doubt the best way to grow, and feel really proud of the results of their work.
Neither my approach has to do, to deny rights to members, but from a position requiring rational, consistent and fair, which will match each activity or group show made, the institution to which belong. If someone wants to do a solo and bear alone the responsibility of both technical, such as speech or proposal for work, of course I can do and it's all right, but in this case is not the image, and the work of the Ateneo to judge, but the author's personal capacity, use the exhibition hall that the institution offers membership, individually assuming the consequences of both success and failure.
Something very different is having a forgiving attitude, permissive and inconsistent with the quality of activities, how are you, where the institution Yes projecting its image outside its doors to all citizens who visit, whether here or from outside our city. Not have the slightest doubt that in a group show organized and sponsored by the Cultural Association of Castellón, the image of the institution is what is exposed and therefore, assumes the risks it.

Vicente, I beg you to re-read and above all, try to make a friendly effort to understand my intentions and arguments, I have no problem not publicly explain a talk to all members (also those of the Board ) if it considers it necessary or appropriate to you, my intentions are best for the institution as well as my respect for the members who run it, but honestly I think that what is done in the Arts section on enabling activities like this, does not help the image of a center that seeks, or should be, an agora of knowledge, beauty and quality in their image, quite another thing is that we call "Art Association fans", or "collar art "or" Club of painters and sculptors novice "or any other name you might happen to define it, but in no case Castellón Cultural Association, I think it is fair to remember with honor the temple of Minerva (goddess of wisdom) and deserves not only more "category" (as they say in these parts) if not also a more serious care of the image.
Finally and as suggestions, to be consistent with the semantic valuable in terms of intentions and definitions of the concepts we use to describe a thing or a phenomenon, perhaps more consistent with the quality we have these group shows, change the "artists "the University for" Painting and sculpture by members of the Ateneo. " I say this because "artists" in this exhibition have not found any, as an artist is an individual who has developed both its creativity and the ability to communicate the experience, by the judicious use of the technique and originality of the idea and in this sample (as above) save few exceptions a commendable job, there are serious shortcomings of both techniques, as proposed in the works, so it is best not to call artists, because in my opinion, is much trying and modest humility never hurts especially in art, which abound both "ghost."
