Physiotherapy Day VI
KINESIOLOGY INTENSIVE TRAINING IN MILITARY HOSPITAL IN SANTIAGO.
I. INTRODUCTION
The rapid advance of science and technology in recent years have invaded all areas of human endeavor. The medicine has not been an exception to technological advances and global knowledge. Recent changes in the structure of units (ICU), integrated into one entity to the intensive care unit (ICU) and intermediate care units (ICU) with the intention of unifying the health care network under a model common, based on the generation of guides technological development, computer, care professional.
addition, ministerial guidelines for the formation of critical patient units incorporate the resource physiotherapist as part of this, and define a profile and technical-vocational skills, where the physical therapist must have knowledge of intensive care area in respiratory, neuromuscular care, mechanical ventilation and ventilatory therapy and these must be properly credited. It is also expected that the physiotherapist involved treatment of critically ill patients with a comprehensive view of their serious condition and will be beneficial in reducing duration of mechanical ventilation, pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation and therefore the days of stay in the units of greater complexity. Motivated by these changes, the unit of Kinesiology at the Military Hospital of Santiago has raised the challenge of becoming a training center in this new area of \u200b\u200bdevelopment. In this second version of this course we hope to strengthen the positive aspects achieved in 2008, also issued to make new contributions based on the experience gained in the last version.
